What to Buy the Home Chef in your Life

Rounded up my current favorite kitchen items that I think would be great for gifts for your favorite baker or home chef. (or yourself) I spend a lot of time in my kitchen and use a lot of different things, these all make my life easier, more organized or just plain pretty.

Salbree Microwave Popcorn Popper

I love this gadget, it gets used all the time in our house. Super simple, no butter, no oil, ready in minutes. Perfect!

Le Creuset Heritage 1 Quart Dish

I received this Le Creuset baking dish as an anniversary gift from work. One of those things where you go through the catalog of gifts and pick whatever you like. Saw this beauty and my search was done. It’s become one of my favorites in my kitchen! Le Creuset is an amazing brand, but can sometimes be pricey. This is a smaller baking dish, very affordable and is a perfect size for a ton of dishes I make. Love the way it cooks plus it’s pretty.

Magnolia Stoneware Salt Cellar

This salt container was one of those random purchase while at Target that you definitely don’t need, but it’s Joanna Gaines. Magnolia. And it’s adorable. So it came home with me and fast became one of my favorites in the kitchen. I love storing my salt in here and grabbing a pinch when I need it. Leah loves grabbing a pinch (or a handful) to help as well.

Hearth and Hand Mini Bowl

My name is Laura and I am a mini bowl hoarder. I love them and I have no idea why. They are just so tiny and cute and feel so fancy or something. Perfect for several ingredients when I’m baking or seasoning that needs to be sprinkled. There’s just something about mini bowls. I love these from Hearth and Hand at Target. They feel hand crafted and special.

Tovolo Ice Cream Container

I have no idea if I bought this or my mom gave this to me or maybe a wedding gift? All I know is that I love it and it’s a staple in our freezer, especially during the summer. Great size and easy to clean.

Oxo Good Grips Cookie Scoops

This one was a no brainer, I use these ALL. THE. TIME. Perfect sizes, easy to use. A must have in any kitchen.

Artisan Glass Canisters with Oak Lids

I went on an organizational whirlwind this summer and basically bought out The Container Store. My pantry is still a mess, but it looks MUCH prettier than it did before. A big part of the pretty are these glass containers with oak lids. I keep chocolate chips in these, nuts, popcorn, all the things. Keeps things fresh, shows me when things are low and distracts your eye from the bin with a ton of chip bags below it.

.Org Vertical Mesh Organizer

These were also part of my summer organizational whirlwind. I put these on my pantry shelves and slide my baking sheets, cake pans and muffin tins into them. Love how they keep them separated vertically instead of stacking them on top of each other.

USA Pan Quarter Sheet Pan

Who knew a small baking sheet would change my life. Okay, I’m being dramatic, but seriously, I use this sheet pan all the time.Love the size and love the way it bakes.

24 Count Cupcake Pan

Having a 24 count cupcake pan around has been a game changer. Most recipes end up with more than 12 cupcakes or if you need more than 12 cupcake

Copper Measuring Cups

These copper measuring cups are some of my favorite in my kitchen. (I have several pairs because I’m a kitchen hoarder) They just feel good in my hand and I love the copper color.

Kitchen Aide 5 Quart Ceramic Mixer Bowl

I LOVE my Kitchen Aide mixer, it gets used a lot. I mean, a lot. And I have the stainless steel bowl that I love, but then this big guy came into my life. Five quart and ceramic. I feel like it mixes things better and it definitely cleans up easier. It’s my new love affair. I’m a weirdo.

Silpat Baking Mat

Had to include this one, I mean I probably use this at least 5x a week. I use it for baking and regular old cooking. Makes everything nonstick. Love! Must have if you bake or cook a lot.

Chrissy Teigen’s Spatula

This is my new favorite spatula, it’s sturdy but flexible and I love it! I also love Chrissy Teigen and want to be her friend. In the meantime, I’ll use her spatula from Target.

Stainless Steel Mixing Bowls

These are such great bowls, I have several of them. Super sleek and clean up really easily.

Tortilla Warmer from Sur La Table

This is one of those items that is so simple, yet I often think what did I do before I had this? Wet paper towels, that’s what I did. But now, we fancy. Seriously though, this makes life so much easier. We make quesadillas and cheese tortillas all the time and this is quick and easy.
