Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies

Have you ever needed something sweet after dinner so you get a spoon, dip it into the peanut butter jar, then grab a handful of chocolate chips and eat them while you watch Real Housewives? Asking for a friend. My husband looked at me like I needed an intervention. He's probably not wrong. For both the pb and chocolate and the Bravo shows. I just can't stop, it's my happy place. 

Okay, so I might have a peanut butter and chocolate problem. It's just one of the best combos in history in my opinion, that's all. So in my love of chocolate and peanut butter, I made some amazing peanut butter and chocolate cookies and the recipe is below. You're welcome.

Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, room temp

3/4 cup sugar

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

3/4 cup smooth peanut butter

1/3 cup cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup peanut butter chips

15 regular-sized peanut butter cups, cut into pieces

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl whisk together the flour, cocoa and baking soda. Set aside.

2. In a mixer, beat the butter and sugars together on med-high until fluffy. Add vanilla, peanut butter and eggs and mix until combined.

3. Add the flour mixture and beat on low until just combined. Do not overmix. Batter will be thick. Fold in peanut butter/chocolate chips and peanut butter cups.

4. Scoop dough into balls onto baking sheets lined with parchment or a silicone baking mat.

5. Bake for 11-13 minutes. Let cool for at least 10 minutes on baking sheet before transferring to wire rack to cool completely. (if you can wait that long)
