Peanut Butter Chocolate Sheet Cake

Are we all in agreement that peanut butter and chocolate are basically the greatest combination of flavors ever? Okay good. Now that we have that out of the way, I’d like to introduce you to a delicious little number called Peanut Butter Chocolate Sheet Cake. (with peanut butter frosting!!!) It’s ridiculous in the best way possible.

You spread the peanut butter frosting on the cake while it’s still just a little warm so it makes it melty. I can’t. The cake is super soft and moist with a perfect chocolate and peanut butter mix of flavor. Sprinkle some chocolate chips and peanuts on top and you have yourself the perfect piece of cake to eat with a glass of milk by yourself while watching Real Housewives of New York. Is that not anyone else’s dream? Just mine?

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 cups sugar

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup water

1/2 cup butter, cubed

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

1/4 cup baking cocoa

3 large eggs, room temperature

Frosting Ingredients

3 cups powdered sugar

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

1/2 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup chopped salted or unsalted peanuts and chocolate chips

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 13x9 baking pan with nonstick spray. Set aside.

2. In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. In a small saucepan, combine water, butter, peanut butter and cocoa. Cook until it just starts to boil, stirring occasionally. Pour into flour mixture, stirring just until combined.

3. In a small bowl, whisk eggs, sour cream and vanilla until blended. Add to flour mixture, whisking constantly. Transfer to prepared baking pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 25-30 minutes.

4. FROSTING: In a large bowl, beat powdered sugar, peanut butter, milk and vanilla until smooth.

5. Remove cake from oven and place on a wire rack. Cool the cake for about 15-20 minutes and then frost the cake. Will make the frosting slightly melty and gooey. Sprinkle chopped peanuts and chocolate chips on top. Cool completely before cutting.
