Apple Maple Pork Chops

My favorite kind of meals are simple, very few pans involved and usually a creamy sauce of some kind. Easy comfort food is my kind of thing. This pork chop recipe is all of those things and I am so excited.

Pork Chops pair so well with the sweet apples and apples pair really well with maple and the whole thing pairs well with a creamy and yummy sauce. Plus, I love pork chops but I don’t change it up so much when I cook them.

Easy weeknight dinner or a comforting Sunday meal with family. Check out the recipe below and let me know what you think!

  • prep time: 10 minutes
  • cook time: 15 minutes
  • total time: 25 minutes

Servings: 4

Ingredients:

3-4 pork chops

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

3 Tablespoons flour

olive oil

1 Tablespoon butter

1/2 onion, chopped

2 apples, chopped

3 Tablespoons maple syrup

1/3 cup apple juice

1 cup heavy cream

Instructions:

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel and season with salt and pepper. Pour the flour on a plate or shllow bowl and set aside.

  2. Drizzle olive oil into a saute pan on medium-high heat. Dredge the pork chops on each side and then place in the pan. Cook about 3 minutes (depending on the thickness) each side until golden brown. Once cooked, remove from the pan, set on a plate and cover with foil.

  3. Lower the heat of the pan to medium heat and add the butter, onions and apples. Cook for about 3 minutes until all are softened a bit.

  4. Pour in the maple syrup and apple juice. Stir and scrape the brown bits off the bottom of the pan. Pour the heavy cream in and then increase the heat to medium-high. Continue to stir continuously until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.

  5. Place the pork chops back into the pan with the sauce and cover pork chops. Enjoy!
