Shredded Beef on Pretzel Rolls

Super tender shredded beef made in a slow cooker on a pretzel bun. Nothing fancy, tons of flavor. Easy and delicious! No better way to have a sandwich.

I’m a Nebraska girl, born and raised. I didn’t stray too far when I went to college either, headed down to Kansas. Then went slightly East (but still not too far) and moved to Chicago for a bit. But good old Nebraska was still calling me back. Also, spent all my money on Cubs games, good food and St Patrick’s Day. Kidding. (kind of)

As a Nebraska girl, I love my beef. So I like to add a really good beef meal into our lives every now and then. Speaking of amazing Nebraska beef, we LOVE D&D Beef which is local to us. It’s literally a ranch that’s like 45 minutes away. Family run and their meat is the BEST.

Michaela with D&D posted about these sandwiches she made and I knew I needed to try them out. They are absolutely delicious and extremely easy. Slow cooker in the morning and then dinner at night. The thing that makes these sandwiches go from good to “holy crap, these are amazing!” are the Pretzilla pretzel rolls. Game changer!!

Shredded Beef on Pretzel Rolls

Lolo's Desserts | March 2020

Ingredients:

2.5 lb arm roast (or roast of your choice)

1 cup of water

2 Tablespoons garlic powder

1 Tablespoon kosher salt

2 Tablespoons pepper

Pretzel Rolls

4-5 Tablespoons butter, softened

2 teaspoons garlic powder

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the meat by sprinkling the garlic powder, salt and pepper all over. Rub the seasoning into the meat.

  2. Pour the cup of water into the crockpot. Place meat into the crockpot, careful not to submerge the meat. You want the seasoning to stick.

  3. Place on low for 6-8 hours until super tender and falling apart. Shred with a fork.

  4. Cut the pretzel rolls in half and place on a baking sheet. Mix butter and garlic together until combined. Spread the garlic/butter mixture onto both halves of the pretzel roll. Place in oven and cook for about 10 minutes, then change to broil on low for another couple minutes. Watch carefully so they don't burn.

  5. Place beef onto pretzel roll, then spoon some of the beef broth from the crockpot over the beef. SOOO good!
