15 Recipes for Your Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving is such a great day full (no pun intended) of family, football and food. Such good food! We have our family traditional recipes but every year I try something new. You never know when you might find a new recipe that becomes a tradition.

I also spend way too much time searching Pinterest and blogs trying to find great ideas. So I decided to put together a list of the drool worthy recipes I found from fellow bloggers to give you a quick guide to Thanksgiving. Bring on the stretchy pants and food comas. Enjoy!

  1. Sweet Dinner Rolls from Cookies and Cups

These look incredible because I’m a sucker for anything that has a little sweetness to it. The honey butter topping is everything. Super easy too which is the key to a Thanksgiving day full of cooking.

2. Maple Brown Butter Sweet Potatoes from Whisks and Wildflowers

Anything with the words Brown Butter make me automatically salivate. The smell of brown butter is quite possibly the greatest smell in all the land. Does Bath and Body have a candle of it yet, if they don’t, they need to. Incredible. Added to sweet potatoes…with maple syrup….and marshmallows of course. Yep, bring it on.

3. Maple Balsamic Roasted Brussel Sprouts from Kristine’s Kitchen

I love, love, love brussel sprouts. They are really an overlooked vegetable. The combo of balsamic, maple and brussel sprouts is so perfect. These are a great way to add some greens to the Thanksgiving table without feeling like you are being too healthy on such an indulgent day. I am definitely making these for the big day.

4. Bourbon Orange Cranberry Sauce from Sugar and Soul

Truth be told, I don’t really like cranberry sauce. I know, the shame. Please don’t judge me. Also, this seems weird because I’m a sucker for a sweet and salty combo so you think I would love a little cranberry and turkey bite. Sorry, not really for me. However, I think I could get down with this Bourbon Orange Cranberry sauce. I mean, there’s bourbon, so yep.

5. Creamy and Rustic Mashed Potatoes from Lolo’s Desserts

Mashed potatoes are my absolute favorite Thanksgiving dish and this is how I make them for my family. Lotta butter. Skins on. Creamy. Did I mention butter?

6. Apple Herb Turkey Brine from Striped Spatula

I had to include a turkey recipe on this list because, duh. I’m never in charge of the turkey so I have little experience. What I do know, is that the times we’ve done a brine it’s turned out juicy, flavorful and ah.mah.zing. This brine with apple cider and herbs sounds incredible and seems like an easy way to make a dope turkey.

7. Southern Style Bacon Potato Green Bean Casserole from Chelsea’s Messy Apron

This is a really cool and delicious twist to the standard green bean casserole. You can’t go wrong with bacon, I mean, come on, bacon makes everything better. I am definitely making this for Thanksgiving this year. And even more excited for the leftovers.

8. Iced Pumpkin Cookies from Tiny Kitchen Sweets

Of course you need a sweet treat after all that savory food. These pumpkin cookies from Tiny Kitchen Sweets look soooo good. Soft and pillowy, the perfect pumpkin ending.

9. Turkey Fruit Platter from The First Year

Well, this is just adorable and so fun. What a great and festive way to get some fruit in their bellies. This would be a great way to get the kiddos involved in the meal too. Super easy!

10. Grandma’s Turkey Stuffing from Tastes of Lizzy T

I love stuffing. It’s right under mashed potatoes for my favorite Thanksgiving sides. I feel like sometimes I eat more in the kitchen even before we sit down to eat. A little pinch here, a little there. It’s so good. This is a great, traditional stuffing recipe that will be a major crowd pleaser.

11. Sweet Potatoes with Brown Sugar Glaze from Lolo’s Desserts

This one came from my mother-in-law, they are my husband’s favorite. Funny story, when we first started dating, Dave asked if I could make sweet potatoes for his work Thanksgiving. Sure thing, I’ll whip something up. I found a fancy recipe, trying to impress him and his work friends. I wanted them to be so good. They turned out really tasty, except for the fact that they were nothing like what Dave’s mom made for him growing up. I shipped them and flavored them and added a fancy coating. This is nothing like that and I’m so glad because these are perfections. They are simple and amazing. The sauce. Just trust me, the sauce.

12. Pear Cranberry Pie from Wild Wild Whisk

This Pear Cranberry Pie looks incredible! I love that it’s not the traditional pie for Thanksgiving but still a perfect mix of Fall flavors. Plus, look how pretty! I am dying to make this one for our family meal. (I may use premade pie dough though, shhhh)

13. Caramel Apple Sangria from Lolos’ Desserts

Gotta have a cocktail on this list because, you know, it’s the holidays. Stress and family and travel and decorating and food and presents. Mama needs a cocktail. And this one tastes like a caramel apple dream. Super easy too!

Green Bean Casserole is a classic Thanksgiving dish, it’s just one of those that is a staple on the dinner table. It’s easy, it’s delicious, it’s comfort food and I’m all about it.

These are my absolute favorite pumpkin bars. Probably abnormally obsessed. Gooey, light, sweet. Like Fall in a bar. Trust me, you want to make these.
